30.08.2022 -  05.12.2022 Haura Laiqa Naznin / 0345050 / Bachelors of Design in Creative Media Environment Design LECTURES Week 1: This week we were introduced to what this module and it's exercises were all going to be about. Then we began to learn about the projects. We learnt about separating a background into 3 parts: the background, middle ground and foreground. The farther away an object is, the more faded away and lighter in colour they will be compared to something in the foreground. Week 2: Mr. Kannan gave us feedback on our exercises which were to sketch out different environments and colouring in where the background, midground and foreground are. He then talked more about perspective. Week 3: We learnt how to construct a believable world or place that residents could live in, whether it be near the mountains or somewhere else. Week 4: Feedback was given about our building sketch exercises, which then lead to Mr. Kannan further helping us how to develop our a...

29.08.2022 -  05.12.2022 Haura Laiqa Naznin / 0345050 / Bachelors of Design in Creative Media UX Design LECTURES Week 1: A briefing about what the module was going to entail was what we started with. For someone who did not do any previous UI/UX designing, I was glad to learn the different keywords and what it meant to be a UX designer. Week 2: We learned about what user personas are and how to create them. They'd be people who would hypothetically use the product we are about to design for them. Week 3:  For this week, we learnt about empathy maps and what each different section of the map means. Then we further discussed about the project details. Week 4: This week we learnt about what a design audit is, which is a checklist companies use to ensure all their products or apps are consistent throughout in terms of style, font, colours, etc. Week 5: For this lesson, we dived into what a User Journey Map was in order to help us with our understanding of the UX designing proc...

31.08.2022 -  05.12.2022 Haura Laiqa Naznin / 0345050 / Bachelors of Design in Creative Media Game Art LECTURES Week 1: Public Holiday Week 2: We were given a basic introduction to the module, then we were briefed on what sort of exercises we were meant to do. It's a class that goes hand in hand with environment design as well, since we chose a game that we liked to focus on. Week 3: Each of us proposed our ideas for what game we wanted to use to base our character designs on. For our character designs, we had to create 3 different archetypes (hero, villain, minion etc) as well as give them personalities and a reason why they may be in the game. Week 4: Feedback was given about our concept sketches. Weapons and props were suggested for us to try out and design. Week 5: Class cancelled. Week 6: Further feedback was given to us based on what sketches we showed to Mr. Kannan. Afterwards, we had a lecture about silhouettes and how important they are to a characters initial desi...

It's a method used in movies in scenarios where actors and producers are unable to travel to certain locations whether its dangerous, they didn't exist or they simply had no time. Week 3: We focused on perspective for this lesson, taking a look at more examples as well as Mr. Kannan giving us feedback for the perspective grids we tried to place for our exercises. Week 4: Today's lesson was a quick demonstration to do with Maya and 3d modelling. Week 5: Our class was short, as we went through feedback regarding our exercises and progression with our first project. Week 6: This week, we dived more deeply into lighting and how it worked among different surfaces. Shadows are formed differentl...
