LECTURES

Week 1: A briefing about what the module was going to entail was what we started with. For someone who did not do any previous UI/UX designing, I was glad to learn the different keywords and what it meant to be a UX designer.

Week 2: We learned about what user personas are and how to create them. They'd be people who would hypothetically use the product we are about to design for them.

Week 3: For this week, we learnt about empathy maps and what each different section of the map means. Then we further discussed about the project details.

Week 4: This week we learnt about what a design audit is, which is a checklist companies use to ensure all their products or apps are consistent throughout in terms of style, font, colours, etc.

Week 5: For this lesson, we dived into what a User Journey Map was in order to help us with our understanding of the UX designing process.

Week 6: Class was cancelled.

Week 7: Public Holiday.

Week 8: Independent learning week.

The following weeks we had on and off lessons, and most of them was Mr. Hafiz simply telling us what we had to do for our next tasks, such as creating a concept prototype for our chosen application once we got into our groups. Then we proceeded to make a survey to see which design they liked better compared to the original app. Finally, we compiled all the information to put into a design document detailing results and findings as well as a conclusion.

INSTRUCTIONS

EXERCISES

Task 1:
Figure 1.0 The first exercise as an introduction to UX Design

For this exercise, we were told to find an object in everyday life that we found to be rather annoying or frustrating because of it's poor design. The way it is used should evoke that feeling because of said design.

Task 2:

For the next exercise, we had to create just one user persona to help us redesign an app or website of our choice. I chose Ebay as my website and a university student who is a likely user for the site.

Figure 1.2 Task 2 continued

This is a continuation of task 2 - a matrix to further develop the user persona.

Figure 1.4 Task 3 on Miro

The following task was to create a user empathy map. Afterwards, we were to fill in the blanks of the project details to further help us with our proposal in order to redesign the website we chose.

Figure 1.6 User Experience Journey

The final task was to create a user experience journey so we may have a deeper understanding of how the consumers using the website thinks. Once we were done with all our tasks, we were to compile it into Notion.
