During the beginning of week 8, I was looking forward to attending the webinars that were organized by our lecturers and Mr. Izwal. The ones that I have chosen were focused on tips in the workplace and interviews as well as insights into the creative industry. One of the few companies that helped put it all together were Allianz, GSK and C47 Creative. The reasons why I chose those specifically were because I had my worries when it came to choosing jobs or internships in the future and the processes that would follow it. Interviews are very common, if you were unlucky and didn't get hired on the spot! It was one aspect that I always felt nervous about when I thought about having to do them in the future, so obtaining advice from the very professionals who conducted them was going to prove very valuable to me. During all of the webinars, I made sure to write down notes that seemed important to me and to screenshot any information that I thought could be useful for later. Of course, the information would only be viewed by me and me alone. In addition to this, an insider view of how the creative industry is like was very interesting to learn more about. The host compared how people in the U.S reacted to ideas in comparison to Malaysians which I found to be very fascinating. It reminded me just how different people in different cultures may react to certain ideas you may have depending on where you want to work, which I would definitely factor into when its time for me to find careers outside or within Malaysia. There's a lot of research to be done and factors to go through before anyone can attempt to nail down a job that they might like. Learning all of this throughout the week has been wonderful.
