DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING (WEEK 5 + 6, PROJECT 2A)

LECTURE

Week 5: We went through last weeks digital collages for some verbal feedback from Mr Fauzi. The first part of the task was a simple composition whilst the second part of it we had to experiment with adjustment layers. Once that was done, we were introduced to the next project which was to design a poster. This will occur over the next few weeks. He talked us through the steps for poster design.

TUTORIAL

Week 5: Exposure editing using the images they have provided us. The first part was to edit Shazam into an environment as if he actually was there, and the second part is to insert ourselves.

PRACTICAL

For the second part of the task, this is the picture that I will be using to insert myself into the environment. It's a photo from back when I used to live in Qatar, so it's rather outdated, but I thought it fit decently into the heart mansion.

I rewatched the tutorial provided by Mr Fauzi again to ensure I got all the steps right. Firstly I went to Adjustments > Match Color, afterwards I decided to experiment more by adding a new adjustment layer of  'color balance'. This is to give it a bluer hue over the photo to match better with the mansion.

Week 6 Task: Recoloring black and white

Our next task was to recolor a picture that was originally in black and white. We could use any color for his skin and hair.

I used a tan skin tone to color his skin and put the layer mode on 'Color Burn'. I chose that because I liked how the color turned out and the details on his face such as the wrinkles show through really well.

It would've been too boring to keep his face as is so I went for some makeup to keep it interesting. I kept it the same color as the hair, as well as for the eyes so the colors could match well and it won't look too confusing or strange. Although the bright red lipstick is the only one to stand out.

 26/10/2023 PDW Reflection Report During the beginning of week 8, I was looking forward to attending the webinars that were organized by our lecturers and Mr. Izwal. The ones that I have chosen were focused on tips in the workplace and interviews as well as insights into the creative industry. One of the few companies that helped put it all together were Allianz, GSK and C47 Creative. The reasons why I chose those specifically were because I had my worries when it came to choosing jobs or internships in the future and the processes that would follow it. INTERCULTURAL DESIGN

We were put into groups, or more like we chose ourselves who we wanted to work with. Our main theme for this entire semester is 'Purpose' and we had to research into a culture of our choice. The end goal is to come up with a design that embodies the theme and relates to the culture. Week 2: Consultation with Mr Vinod who was assigned to be our group's supervisor. We had some basic ideas in mind already but he helped us understand what our task actually was. It was a class consisting mostly of feedback and progress checking. Week 3: We presented our final proposal, or as final our proposal can be to Mr. Vinod who checked every other group's proposals as well for feedback. TYPOGRAPHY (TASK 1)

30.03.2021 - 20.04.21 (Week 1 - Week 4) Haura Laiqa Naznin / 0345050 / Bachelors of Design in Creative Media Typography Task 1 LECTURES Week 1 (30.03.2021) During the lecture we were briefed through the module structure, explaining the details about what tasks and projects we will be facing in the future as well as the duration of the course. We were also given a tutorial on how to create our e-portfolios using Blogger. We were told the importance of updating our blog every so often with our work and feedback. Then our first task was explained to us, which was to create a type expression using 4 words chosen from a bigger list of words. Week 2 (06.04.2021) All of us were put into groups to give feedback for our sketches of the type expressions.
