No lectures as it is independent learning week.

Week 9 (25.05.2021)
Going through feedback on the progress of our sketched out typeface designs. Some have already digitalized theirs, some haven't. Then Mr Vinod went onto Illustrator to show how we could improve our typefaces by explaining what spurs and contrast is.

Task 3A: Creating own typeface

For this task we are meant to start creating our own typeface by using an existing one as a point of reference. We would need to study it's anatomical parts by deconstructing, but first sketches of our ideas need to be done.

For the reference, I will be using the fonts 'Adobe Carlson Pro' and 'ITC New Baskerville'.

I may also use these other two fonts as inspiration.

Using them as references I came up with 5 possible typefaces to design.

Using illustrator to design my chosen typeface. I decided to go for the very first one since Mr Vinod liked that one too. I'm still struggling a lot when it comes to this program but so far, it doesn't look too horrible.

Thanks to Mr. Vinod's feedback I have made slight improvements such as removing the arc for the letter 'm' and thickening some lines that were inconsistent before.

After that's all done, I could finally generate my typeface into an actual font. This part was quite exciting, even if my font isn't the prettiest.

VEHICLE AND PROPS DESIGN

01.04.2022 -  25.06.2022 Haura Laiqa Naznin / 0345050 / Bachelors of Design in Creative Media Vehicle and Props Design LECTURES Week 1: We learned about the fundamentals and basics on how to draw out vehicles from scratch. References are very important! Week 2: We continued to learn about the basics of breaking down a vehicle to its most simple shapes. Week 3: Mr Kannan took a look at our sketches for some vehicles and gave feedback. He then explained what our first project was going to be like, having to choose a world and universe to design vehicles for and the process in doing so. Week 4: No class. Week 5: More feedback on our ongoing project sketches, teaching us on how to draw our vehicles in different perspectives by using the tools in the programs we use such as Photoshop. 2023 PDW Reflection Report

 26/10/2023 PDW Reflection Report During the beginning of week 8, I was looking forward to attending the webinars that were organized by our lecturers and Mr. Izwal. The ones that I have chosen were focused on tips in the workplace and interviews as well as insights into the creative industry. One of the few companies that helped put it all together were Allianz, GSK and C47 Creative. The reasons why I chose those specifically were because I had my worries when it came to choosing jobs or internships in the future and the processes that would follow it. Interviews are very common, if you were unlucky and didn't get hired on the spot! It was one aspect that I always felt nervous about when I thought about having to do them in the future, so obtaining advice from the very professionals who conducted them was going to prove very valuable to me.
